hi ,

i post the same questrion on DTA thread but have no answer;
i order a DTA in 300 wm and i'm currently buying components waiting for it.
i still have brass, 215 m primers,n 570 powder and 220 smk;
but i don't know if i could use 230 berger in this rifle and still use the magazine?does the CIP OAL will let enough space for the powder iun the case?

Depends on your magazine length. Here are the measurements I got:

Sierra Matchking 220 gr
Case trim to length:  2.610"
220 gr SMK length:  1.485"
= 4.095" minus .250" for the boat tail =  3.845"
minus .300 for the neck = 3.545" max COAL

Berger 230 gr Hybrid:
2.610 + 1.640" bullet length = 4.25"
minus boat tail (.220) = 4.03"
minus .300 for neck = 3.73" max COAL

Call mr. Berger if you want to know short you can safely seat the bullet. Surely it will work at SAAMI spec.
