I find myself shooting of the bench more and more. Have a large Caldwell front bag and a sand sock type in the rear and noticed it's more accurate than using a bipod off the bench. The Caldwell bag sinks over time and is kind of a pain. Found this on special with free shipping coupon code.....$100.79 shipped. Figured it's worth a try. If I don't like it, I'm sure it will sell. Passing along if anyone else was interested. I read the feedback from Amazon....does anyone here use this? I didn't want to dump $500 or so for the fancier Sinclair rests.

I hate to be "that guy" but...... Learn to shoot off a bipod.

Bipod what are those....is it on the right way or backwards? I had a heck of a time deploying those long bars that it stands on....what the heck are they called again? All the toilet seat, pizza box, non-shooting fucks get issued these.....not like you have to get selected for, and pass any schools or anything. I'm amused and annoyed at the same time.....thanks for the advise hero.

Sinclair makes a more budget friendly model, the Lightweight All Purpose Rest. Not as cheap as the Caldwell, lighter as well but probably a more durable option. Plus its guaranteed for life so you can always return it if you don't like it or if your grandkids wear it out. Next step up would be their Varmint Rest which has a heavier cast iron base I believe.

I've been using one for many years. If you tighten the coarse and fine adjustment knobs, it isn't wobbly. It's better than a front shooting bag. I was unaware of the bald eagle stuff when I purchased mine. Had I known back then I might have went with the bald eagle instead, but the caldwell has been good enough that I don't feel I need to upgrade. If I ever buy another front rest I'll just step up to something like the seb neo. In the mean time I'll continue to use the caldwell rock br.

I had uploaded a video to youtube few years ago that OP might find interesting:

In regards to using a bi-pod over a front rest, why?

Update

Been using this rest for a few months now and honestly, I can't find a lot wrong with it. It's solid, no wobble at all, locks up snug, easy to adjust. I have no complaints in it's present configuration as seen. It did require a couple of upgrades to the front and rear bags, but it's very solid now and the rifle does not move when placed in it. I'm sure those other rests are nice but for the money I have into this....very happy with it.
