California has a ballot initiative system that allows voters to change the CA constitution via a general election majority vote. The Taxpayer Protection Act was supposed to be on the fall ballot and would have required voter approval to raise any new taxes anywhere in California. . The State Supreme Court just removed the Taxpayer Protection Act from the fall ballot on the grounds that it would "revise" rather than "amend" the state Constitution. In other words, California courts and Democrats don't support voting if it's inconvenient.

Yet my family still wonders why I hate government and own guns...

Thats the problem the Republickers are quite content to be second fiddle.They still get enormous kick backs and graft and best of all they can play the blame game and say they arent in charge.For them being second fiddle is still better than 95% of the population.

There's no real great solution here. IMO, the government is so systemically corrupted that I don't think there's an easy solution.
