I need a little help here guys and gals.

I'm back in school now and up to my elbows in homework.

I am working on a research paper about the <span style="font-style: italic">Castle Doctrine</span> right now.

What I need help with is finding the wording on Virginia's current self-defense laws mainly pertaining to your home/private abode.

I have been scouring the Virginia Code but cannot find what I need.

I am needing this information so that I can show a relationship between what is current and what would have been if HOUSE BILL NO. 584 had not been defeated in the Senate.

IIRC from when I got my CHP in Virginia a few years ago, Virginia's castle doctrine comes from case law, not the Code of VA.

We are not allowed to cite Wiki or any Blog's, but yes thanks for responding QQ.

And yes the laws do stem from the Code of Virginia, based on Case law. If not, then why would there be a House Bill No. 854 to amend the Code of Virginia. This bill was about the Castle Doctrine and it got shot down by a special Senate hit squad.

I just googled it and came up with assloads of hits. The one I linked was among the first couple but was the best reasoned. I saw sufficient references to make me believe that credible source material was available with a litle extra digging.

Contact the VCDL they should have what you are looking for. Currently VA law is all we have and it doesn't allow us to defend property which I think is retarded
