Fieldcraft camo job on Savage

Re: camo job on Savage

You got some pics of some work you have done? I would be looking for a woodland style camo pattern. I see your in ohio. How does the shipping work? Am I allowd to ship the rifle to you or does it have to be a dealer?

Beautiful work!!

Re: camo job on Savage

You could always do it yourself and save lots of money.Other than free hand work,it's not rocket science afterall. For woodland or Gap camo you can make your own stencils for practically nothing and use Krylon, cost would be about $12. Another option is you could get a basic airbrush and some Duracoat and ready made stencils for about $60.
It does take some time for prep and laying the stencils but it's certainly not hard. There are plenty of "do it your selfers" on here that can vouch for that.

Re: camo job on Savage

I was considering this. I wanted something a little more permanent that Krylon. I have seen some damn good work done with a can of it. I just want something that is more resistant to the wear. I will look into the duracoat.

Re: camo job on Savage

I've got a Savage m12 I did with Duracoat and I couldn't be happier. It's been painted for two years, I use the rifle almost every weekend during the winter months and the only spots the paint has worn is under the bolt handle and on the end of the barrel where it rubs in the soft case in the truck. Fun project to do. I tried pics but I'm not doing something right. I think you'll like it.

Re: camo job on Savage

ill paint it price depends on job...usually 300-600...i do fully organic camo, meaning the rifle blends into the shooter at the back and lightens to blend to the foliage at the front...it is also detail matched to your spec. environ...i have pix, email me [email protected]
