Friend is selling an older 700. Has a 243 sporter barrel on it. He changed it to a remage and shot it a few times.

He's planning to sell the receiver and wants me to put the factory barrel back on (I bought the shit for remages). Would it just thread/torgue back? Or would it need to have the chamber recut? We're using the orginal recoil lug and plan to use gauges, but wsnted an answer before tearing it apart again.

If that barrel originally came off of that receiver, and that receiver has not been modified, then it should have zero issues being torqued back on, but it’s always best to check with Go/No-Go gauges after install.
