Can manners add a gloss finish to a used matte finish stock?

As the subject says... Just bought a used gloss TCS stock and love it, now thinking about getting another one for another rifle.

I have my eye on a used TCS in my second choice for the color scheme I was thinking of ordering on the new stock, but it's matte finish and while it looks great I think I'd prefer gloss like my current stock.

Anyone know if manners can refinish a used matte stock in gloss?

Although given their long wait times which would probably also apply if I sent the matte stock in for gloss refinishing, maybe I should buy the matte one now and run it while waiting 6+ months for the stock I order in my #1 color choice in gloss...

Yep, sent them an email last night and was planning to call Tuesday when they're back open, but figured somebody here might have been able to answer me before then.

I snoozed and missed out anyways, the other TCS I was thinking about picking up sold a couple of hours ago.

Guess I'll put in my order for exactly what I want on Tuesday and watch the PX in the meantime.

I sent a matte TCS in for gloss and it was less than $50 with shipping both ways, and it was there and back in a little over a week IIRC.

That was a little over a year ago, but hopefully things haven’t changed much.

Why not just do it yourself?
There's nothing special about sanding down and repainting a stock, if you can't do it yourself, just get a local paint shop to do it.

I was thinking about doing the same with a couple of mine in the regular matte finish. Can’t you just spray them with a can of Krylon gloss clear coat?

I was thinking the same just lightly sand and spray with the clear gloss surely someone has tried this.

IDK why someone would risk fucking up their ~$1500 stock that takes like a calendar f'ing year to get in order to save $20-30 versus having Manners do it for them.

As I understand it, adding high gloss, or even a Sike's rail/clutch, etc, doesn't necessarily put you at the end of the line waiting forever... give them a call.

My thoughts exactly, they do it all day every day and know what works.

I know from talking to Joe Ducos (who adds kmw loggerhead hardware to their stocks that didn't include it originally) that some adhesives he has tried softened the resin manners used in their layup, so I didn't want to take a chance say spraying an automotive 2 part clear only to find out the chemicals in the clear I used either damaged the existing matte finish or softened and damaged the outer layer of resin on the stock... That would suck.

I did speak with manners today, and they said no problem, and the shipping costs there and back will probably cost more than the gloss clear job.
