Can someone explain to a newbie what the difference between vld and hybrid target Berger’s?

Slightly different shape. A lot of people say that the hybrids are less sensitive to changes in seating depth/jump. I've shot both VLDs and hybrids with good success. VLDs _might_ take a little more tuning, but it really comes down to what shoots best in your gun.

Hybrids are more forgiving in regards to seating depth, the VLD's can be finicky. Both are capable of shooting well. Part of me says get the hybrids, but another part of me says get the VLD's and learn how to tune them, 'cause if you can properly load those you can pretty much load anything, LOL

Looking at 7mm Berger’s, so What’s a better fit for a new reloader and what the benefit in shooting one or the other
The hybrids are just so easy.
VLD maybe is a bit more temperamental but not difficult at all.
They do surprisingly well with a lot of jump.
If you’re mag feeding with a standard .090 throat you’ll probably have .050+ jump already and I’d be surprised if the VLD didn’t do great with that.

The hybrid just swings around a bit less on a seating test it seems.
