Need to schedule my next appendectomy for same time next year.

What other organs do we have that are extraneous I could have removed?

Like to keep the testicles but everything else is ballast.

Sell them nuts, swap them out for ping pong balls. Sell a kidney, i have been living with only one for 49 yrs. fuck that gall bladder. Sell all that shit to china black market and take a couple of weeks off to enjoy life.

Well then can I interest you in a lumbar fusion. L1-S1 fusion and you're good for a while.

C5 and 6 fusion will get you 8 weeks if you are stupid 12-16 if you are smart.
Plus if it doesn't fuse (ie you rush back to work in 8 weeks) you can get another fusion in the same place for another 12-16 weeks. Plus, they go in from the back the second time, where all them important wires reside closer to the work area. Double the risk and double the fun. I am in no way looking forward to it.

Yeah....I'll take my time off without the surgery on the side. No thanks.

    Nipples. There’s 2 right there.

An attack of diverticulitis could cause much of the same symptoms of an appendix problem. A family member was recently hospitalized for what they though was an appendix issue, but turned out to be diverticulitis. In either case, the doc said as long as it hasn't burst, antibiotics was now the first thing to try. Doc was right...a couple of weeks on antibiotics and it cleared up.

The appendix is interesting, and they are learning more about it now...it may actually do things. I don't know what, but it isn't as simple as they used to think it was. However, anything that breaks open into your guts is not a good thing.

Thing has to have a function.

Latest I heard, and makes sense to me, is that it is your gut biome bank.

Take a dose of antibiotics and wipe out your good gut bugs there will be some hiding in the dead end of the sausage casing we call the appendix ready to repopulate your digestive tract.

Im thinking its an autoimmune support organ.

So many fucked up autoimmune disorders these days, especially in kids, makes me wonder what is slow killing us.

I took five weeks off from work due to having my appendix removed. I brought in a doctor's note to my supervisor for light duty, basically no bending over and picking up cans of rolled coin. I worked in the cashier's cage of a casino. Near the end of my shift right before checking out, I would have to replenish my supply of cans of rolled coin and after my appendectomy my supervisor would carry the cans from her station to my station. After a year's time, she stopped in the middle of bringing me a can and said, "Why am I carrying cans for you?" I said, " Because of my appendix operation. She yelled out...that was a YEAR AGO! :) I then told her, the appendix on my other side was not feeling well. She said, "Oh..." and brought me the can. As she was going back to her station, it dawned on her..."WAIT! You only have ONE appendix! "
    She was so gullible! :)

Made it back today. If malingering was on the agenda they would have easily let me burn another week of accrued sick time.

Having too much access to the Hide/Ebay and no opportunity for OT has been expensive.

I dont know what was worse the beating of the wallet or the high levels of sun exposure likely to give me skin cancer.

I took five weeks off, but should have taken six. My doctor moved up my operation by one hour. Afterwards, he said it was a good thing, because when he cut me open, it was about to burst! Besides my gf had a great job and I am always happy to get a vacation. Grew a nice beard while I was off too...and got married! :)

There is such a thing as stump appendicitis although it is rare.

    Doesn't sound pleasant.

I'll just go to work and hope for good health.

Days off can be had as scheduled I guess.

At least I can get back to my regular shooting schedule.

I will miss the beach tomorrow though, working while the family plays.
