<span style="font-weight: bold">Description</span>
This rifle class is to teach the student how to engage targets with a Semi Auto Precision Rifle. The main focus will be on the fundamentals of marksmanship. This course will give the student a solid foundation to learn upon for follow up shots and point target engagement out to the abilities of the rifle. Once you complete this class series you will earn <span style="font-weight: bold">certificates of training</span> from Trace Armory Group and the NRA. The S.A.P.R. class will follow the abbreviated USAMU SDM course of training for this skill set.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Day 1</span>
Name : NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course + Trace Armory Group's Semi-Auto Precision rifle course
Course Qualification Certificate: NRA First Steps Rifle Course Certificate & Trace Armory Basic Rifle Course certificate of attendance for 10 hours of basic rifle training
Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting.
More Details: This course includes the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; range time learning shooting fundamentals to shoot a rifle out to 600 yards; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, bi-pod / loop and hasty sling supported prone, sling supported sitting, sling supported standing and sling supported kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development from the NRA and Trace Armory Group. Students will receive the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure,<span style="font-weight: bold"> Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification</span> booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Day 2</span>
Name : Trace Armory Group's Semi-Auto Precision rifle course
Course Qualification Certificate: NRA Basic Rifle Certification & Trace Armory Semi-Auto Precision Rifle Course Certificate (20 hours).
A strong focus of the MILRAD or MOA reticule for basic ranging of unknown distance targets, reticule ballistic hold over, hold under's, windage holds and mechanical offset holds. Spotter to shooter dialog, wind reading advanced training. This third day of training will also use many unknown distance targets up to 600 yards away and will challenge the student in a non-square range training environment to include nontraditional shooting platforms to include roof simulators and others. We will follow the USAMU training Program for the Squad Designated Marksman Program to enhance your ability to engage targets with a semi-auto rifle.
