Case for your RRS tripod ?

Slightly related, I was considering getting a bag as the few times I've put m RRS in my pack's (kifaru x-ray) side cinch it wasn't super stable.

Anyone else attached directly to a pack have any lessons learned? Trying to avoid buying yet another carry device.

I’m using a kifaru Stryker as a day hunting pack right now. I can fit the tripod and rifle in the center slot without issue and I use two straps to make sure everything stays exactly where I want. That’s a 338 LM with a 27 inch barrel.

I'll try that, thanks. My center pocket has other kit in it, but I could probably justify spending more time securing the RRS in the side cinch pocket.

I've been using a QD sling buckle, with some 550 cord to the side molle on my pack (X4 Highspeed). I then load the tripod (upside down) into the lower cinch pocket, and utilize the sling kit from RRS to pull the tripod into the side of the pack, with that QD sling buckle and 550 cord. Hopefully that makes sense...

Also when you say center slot do you mean the meat shelf or are you talking about the zippered main compartment?
It’s not a meat shelf in the more traditional sense where you have the main pack and then a small shelf of fabric. I would call it more like their original cargo panel.

Any pics of that

I use my backpack, have an Eberlestock Halftrack, a RRS TVC-34L with Anvil 30 fits perfectly in the pouches down the side, this is a picture from Eberlestock website. Will try to remember to get pictures of mine with tripod in it tonight.

I misspoke on my pack. On the Eberlestock X4 (gen 1) I just slide the tripod down through the two tie downs on the side, and into the cup holder. I was thinking of another pack I used that I had 550 cord'ed the QD sling buckle to. I suppose I could do the same with mine, but I'd have to move the sling bracket (you can see it on the left leg in the photo, up top) on the tripod further up the leg to do it.
