I'm getting my long awaited rimfire build back next week. I need a good case to transport to the range. Sometinbg in the 48 inch range is what I'm thinging about. ACC Elite with 24 inch barrel. I've been looing at both Pelican V800's and Plano 52 inch.

I like the Boyt cases. I have a couple of these: Boyt H-Series Hard-Sided Travel Cases. I have flown around the U.S. using these cases and they stand up to airline cargo operations and meet all TSA requirements. https://a.co/d/3TQPGME

I have a Boyt with wheels, but it's much bigger and kinda expensive...Boyt H-Series Hard-Sided Travel Cases https://a.co/d/eQcKzN7

I am happy with my Pelican. Had it for about four years. It gets strapped to a quad or thrown in a snowmobile skimmer every day. I've scuffed trees with the case on the quad more than once ... still working on my aim. Hinges and clasps work like new.

If I’m traveling I’ll use a hard case, Pelican for comp guns Kalispel for hunting rifles and bows, but IMO they’re unnecessary if the rifles are going to just be in the truck and not out of my possession. I prefer a drag bag or a soft case if I’m just going to a local match or the range. Hard cases are just too bulky and unnecessary unless baggage handlers are going to be touching them…

For any travel I do using my own vehicles I use a drag bag and they are more than enough protection and can easily be used to take the rifle to the line at ranges or comps where you need to case the rifle between stages. Eberlestock makes one that has worked great for me. Recently I got a Tac Ops from GA precision, a few bucks cheaper than the Eberlestock and it is US made which matters to me; it’s also a good choice. You can easily fit a fix it sticks kit, Garmin chrono, spare bipod, and binos in either one.
