So I had an itch to scratch. Ran out to a spot where the wind is blocked by some brush. Set up at 110 yards as thats the longest distance at the match I shoot. Just a little group therapy. All 40 shots were in about 15 minutes or so. CZ 455

The Eley Match certainly performed better than the other ammunition. I will pick up some EM and see how it shoots out of my Savage.

So what exactly did you learn? My understanding is that 22lr needs seasoning for the round you are firing. It doesn't sound like you did any seasoning for the ammo you were shooting so did the rounds actually perform as they should from a properly seasoned barrel?

I shoot mostly CCI SV. After getting my butt handed to me on Sunday I just wanted to see if anything else I had shot as good or better. Eley match shoots better than CCI SV. I was surprised how good auto match shot. So I may clean the barrel some and shoot 50 or so round sof that and see what heppens. I also got 2 boxes of Norma Tac 22 today. I'll clean it again and then shoot some of that. I'm sure that the seasoning of the barrel is real because lots of people keep track of that kind of stuff. Did not shooting 100 rounds of Eley match make the group I shot better or worse? Who knows. To test that theory I'd have to clean the gun, and then shoot 10 round groups over and over to see if they get better as the round count goes up. Maybe I'll do that with the Norma.

So I got 2 boxes of Norma TAC 22 last week. Cleaned the barrel friday night, got to shoot it last night. Took 20 round for it to start shooting groups again. Then every 10 shot group got better. The last group was the best... then I was out of Norma. Should have bought 200 rounds... oh well. I guess that is proof the barrels get seasoned and shoot tighter as you go.

All shots at 110 yards

First target was top left. sprayed bullets everywhere

Bottom left is the last group. If you took away the one low flyer it's actually starting to shoot good. Kicking myself for not picking up more...

None of the ammo seems very good with that rifle. As suggested above, the Eley Match seems like it may be a below average lot.

Below is what's good for SK Rifle Match, an ammo that's not nearly as expensive as Eley Match. It's 50 shots at 100 yards. The outside size is about 1.7".

That is a fantastic group. What rifle?
