Shit happens, I know three people who’ve been attacked by unprovoked dogs, two of which were Mexican thug’s dog of choice, the pit bull. I’m maintaining a shoot first policy on loose dogs if they are at all aggressive. i don’t dislike dogs at all, but I have no intention of getting mauled.

Perfectly legit. Pit bulls are pretty common in my area. I live on a farm in a rural area and if this particular breed or other strays wind up on our property they are dispatched without prejudice.

Before my critter (Lab) passed on recently, occasionally I'd be walking him (on leash) and some idiot would let their dog out and it'd run right towards us. Since my boy was almost killed once by another dog he never took well to dogs coming up on him like that. I said something a few times and he always said "he's friendly." Uhh, sorry, that is NOT an excuse. It was a golden so likely it was friendly, but had that dog actually attacked my boy I'd have had to take action.

I'm pretty forgiving as to dogs getting out of house and stuff. But once I was on the beach and some girl had her pit off leash. I walked by and nothing happened. 35-40 yards down beach I hear it coming. I kept walking, as soon as it got withing spitting distance I turned around and yelled as loud as I could at it "STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" That dog freaked out and put the brakes on...yet he did manage to slightly nip at my shorts. Pits can be ruthless, but Doberman's & Rotties scare me more. I've about been eaten by 4 Dobes and 3 Rotties.

I have seen both sides of this. Some idiots buy poorly bred animals, fail to socialize them and then they cause trouble when they get loose. Some cops shoot any Pitbull that they see when they are doing a raid, even if they are at the wrong address or going after someone who isn't a violent offender.

It's sad because they are good guard dogs and they wind up getting shot for doing their job.

It's not sad when an asshole creates a problem and a gun owner has to solve it.

Didn't know them door cams recorded audio too. Kinda wish it didn't because given the conversation between the shooter and owner, I feel the dog had the highest IQ of the two.

Bet this wouldnt have even made the news if it was another breed. Too bad pits, rottweilers and dobermans get a bad name because of the idiot owners out there who try to make a statement with their dog. Trying to see who has the meanest, toughest, and baddest dog. They train them to be this way. The owners should be the ones who get shot.

Any dog, regardless of the breed, comes at me aggressively the end result would be the same. You just dont hear about the non pitbull attacks as it doesn't stir up the attention in the news like the "pits" bring.

I didn’t listen to the audio but just the whole way he walked out of the house and stuff looked (without Audio) quite different than when most folks I know walk out. So it wouldn’t surprise me if dog was smartest.

And as far as Doberman and Rottweiler are concerned when I was almost eaten - All times off leash and no owner even present. I was a kid when the Dobermans (2 in each of the two cases and separate dogs each time) came after me ..weighed a buck 10 maybe. Easy prey for them.

When I was a police officer in Alaska, I was helping a state trooper escort a inmate between the jail and the court and he ended up shooting a street dog to keep us from getting bit.

I love dogs, but not more than I love my life.

I was on the off side of the inmate to the dog, and we had the inmate cuffed behind his back. So if he would have gotten bit, we both would have been personally liable.

It was a good shot, he brained him at about 15 feet, while the dog was moving straight for us.

It looked to me like the woman was ready to go out too, so I’m thinking the guy walked out before her and was waiting for her to exit the home to leave together. I do it all the time with my wife where I walk out in the driveway to wait for her to come out so we can leave.

No fucking way am I holding my fire long enough for the dog to actually get his teeth into me. If put in that situation I hope I’m as fast as the guy in the video was. With a pocket holster my draw isn’t quite as fluid.

Haha. I have no wife. Not familiar with that ?. Yeah. That pit bull on beach could have messed me up. It was a huge one - 70+ lbs.

Some owners are just flat out stupid. Others are teaching this behavior. Hell. I was in a CHP briefing (not a class mind you) and somebody asked if their pit bull ate somebody on his property (front yard) if he could be held liable.

I have noticed around my AO that it's usually some muscle bound douche bag with no shirt on walking an aggressive Pit Bull . I've s÷n it in Trenton NJ too . How big a pussy do you have to be to be all no necjed jacked and walking around with a four legged .45 . Effin pussies .
