I've got a remington 700 bdl that I've just got done building in 6.5-284 with a 18 inch heavy barrel. When I built the rifle I was planning on buying an aftermarket stock for it, but I put the factory bdl stock on it temporarily and its starting to grow on me. So I'm probably going to keep it. Well my question is what color cerakote would look best with a wood rifle stock. I would like something different than the normal black/grey that people do but I'm not sure what color would look good.

google "cerakote with wood stock" choose images and you'll get some hits of rifles and shotguns with wood stocks and cerakoted metal. You local applicator may have some pic's on their website as well.

Thank you I've been thinking about the burnt bronze or green, but all the pictures I've found are of shotguns and I'd like to see it on a rifle first. so does anybody have pictures of a rifle that they've cerokoted one of these colors with a wood stock

With a quick search the only burnt bronze long guns with wooden stock are Browning shotguns:

Recently, I've seen some cerakote jobs that look like "distressed" or "battle worn" finishes. Those can look cool on things that have some flat areas and corners. ARs, 1911s, chassis rifles. Perhaps not the best for a bolt action with wooden stock?

I'm kinda leaning towards a green of some sort. I found a can of od green laying around the shop. So I painted the bottom metal to see if I'll like it. I'm not sure how I like any of the bronzes with a wood stock

Lots of examples in here
