New to the AR platform and I have a 6.8 SPC currently, due to the cost and difficulty in obtaining ammo locally I am considering rebarreling in a .223, but wish to keep the standard M4 profile. Suggestions on which barrel manuf. to go with? Also since I have no intest in keeping the original 6.8, 16 inch barrel any ideas of what that would sell for??

Re: Changing barrels from the 6.8

Value of your 6.8 barrel depends upon several factors, such as chamber (Spec II preferred), twist rate (11" or 12" preferred), length (16" to 18" are the norm), number of grooves in the rifling (3 to 5 preferred), round count, etc. Also, brand / manufacturer, material (stainless?), hand-lapped match-grade?, etc. All that being said, value is probably somewhere between $150 and $350.
