Well a while ago I was looking for a cheap carbine for a receiver for my next build. Really had no intentions on getting a Charger because of the cost. Well, after checking a shop I had purchased a NAA .22wmr revolver from 2yrs previous, we stuck a deal w/ a trade.
As I got it. For the record this would have been $300.

Since the red-dot absolutely drove me friggin nuts, I threw the Mueller TacII that was previously on my 700. As well as adding a KID barrel, Bolt Buffer, Extractor, and Receiver Pin Kit.

Future plans include KID Trigger (red straight trigger), and Cocking assembly. Possibly a Volquartsen scope mount.
I also won this:

Still undecided if I'm gonna use it. Part of me wants to build a twin to this one in rifle form w/ a Boyds Evolution Applejack stock, hmmmm....

Re: Charger Project

Looks good. I really like the IHMSA stock.

So how's it shoot?

My archery shop has one in stock and for some reason he's desperately wanting to get rid of it. Told me $240 out the door. I was never really wanting one of those too bad, but I'm thinking about grabbing this one just to try out, then selling if it's 'not my thing'.

Re: Charger Project

Its a lot of fun, I had the same feelings you do. Starting out 25yds was pretty good, and 50 was a mess (from the bipod, w/ red dot) That KID Barrel was the best 100bux I've spent.

Re: Charger Project

cant honestly say, I did a bunch of stuff all @ once. So i have no real before and after on just them. I just figured i was saving 60bux on the barrel, 35 on them wasnt a big deal

Re: Charger Project

Well as luck goes my new Talo stock showed up right AFTER I got back from the range Sat. Oh well, looks like I'm gonna have to go back tomorrow morning, shucks.
Heres the pics:

The biggest surprise was the profile of the grip, seeing it in the photo in the post above kinda had me scratching my head. Once I got it in my hand its perfect. Right hand only.
