Hi Snipers!
I am from South Africa and I recently got a Howa 6.5cm barreled action and was pretty much set on a Krg Bravo beacause of price.

A Bravo in fde with magazine costs about $740
Mdt is now running a special and a Lss Xl G2 will be about $680.
A MDT Ess will be $1000 but that is more than I'm willing to pay at this stage - or is it much better?

The gun will be used for shooting steel from 300-1100yds. 90% benchrest of the time.

It could potentially be used for hunting but only once or twice a year.

It will be paired with a silencer and a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50 in FFP.

A year ago I really wanted the Lss but it was about $850 here so I was convinced that I should rather get the Krg Bravo. At this moment I can't comment on whether I prefer a stock or a chassis but I do prefer the look of the chassis.

I'm torn on this as there's not a lot of Bravo's here so I can't get real world comparisons from anyone here.

Your input will be greatly appreciated!

Would pick the Bravo over the LSS.

I have a bravo now on my new comp rifle and it's nice. had to weight up the back end a bit but that's easily done.

The LSS as it is, is more suited for a lightweight rifle for hunting.

FACT #1: You have to perform some material removal to the rear underside of the Howa action to use AICS-compatible magazines with any MDT chassis except the ACC. If you don't modify your action, you're stuck using the crappy 8 round MDT plastic magazines.

Fact #2: You do NOT need to modify the Howa action in any way, shape, or form to use AICS-compatible magazines when installed in any KRG chassis.

Because of that, MDT chassis (except the ACC) are a no-go for me when dealing with Howa actions.

According to the mdt vendor the lss and ess comes with a 10 round polymer mag that has no issues apparently..... I'm just looking for the best product for the money.

So there's no reason to save up for the ESS? The Acc is way to heavy for my needs

I wasn't aware that the howa and mdt are not a straight fit out of the box

Read carefully the entire product page for every MDT chassis in their website. It's right there in black and white. The Howa fits straight out of the box. It just will only work with MDT's plastic magazine if you don't modify the bottom of the action (except in the MCC chassis).

It's a minor and easy mod, but nevertheless it has to be done if you want full AICS magazine compatibility.

I think Im set on the Bravo for this build. I was just wondering if I was missing out on something "better" with the Mdt Ess...

I would prefer the Bravo in Fde but now another shop has the black on for about $120 less... choices choices

Get the black one then lol. I got an Fde but that’s because that was the only one in stock!
