So, I was originally going to just ask if anyone had the rough weight of the composite stock of a savage 10 rifle so that I could figure out what sort of total weight I'd be looking at for putting any given savage into an MPA chassis.

And while I'm still interested in knowing what that rough weight is, I was flabbergasted when I went to MPA's website, and saw that they had the MPA BA Chassis listed as weighing 15 lbs.

I've even held just one of the chassis in my hand, and I don't remember it being anywhere near 15 lbs. Is MPA just completely off base with their listed weights? am I crazy? Bit of both?

MPA lists thier Comp chassis a 4.9 lbs. I would guess a complete rifle is about 15 lbs.

I weighed an accustock a few months ago and off the top of my head it was around 2.8 lbs. I'd have to 100% double check that though.

Has to be a mistake on MPAs part, or you accidently read the weight for a full MPA rifle build. The chassis (both comp and standard BA chassis) weigh about 5 pounds. Their "BA LITE" weighs less than that.
Their standard chassis arent light by any means, but they certainly arent pigs either. Theyre just on the heavier side. Definitely not 15 pounds tho!

ok, cool.

when I originally couldn't spot it on this page, http://masterpiecearms.com/shop/mpa-ba-competition-chassis/, (I can see it now though, lol), I clicked the "additional Information" tab, which lists it as 15 lbs (that tab must be a copy paste from a full rifle).

Thanks all for reassuring me of my sanity (if my lack of reading comprehension also), and getting me a rough weight on the composite stock.
