Figured out a much cheaper way to insure high dollar items shipped via usps. If value is more than $1200 insurance is much cheaper if you ship registered mail rather than priority. For example, the insurance on $3600 was $19.75 when shipped registered and over $44 when shipped priority.Plus...way better security for registered mail.

I don't ship USPS on high-dollar items frequently, but that seems like a MUCH better option on its face at less than 1/2 the price per your example.
