I have read this article about CHF barrels, but I think I missed something or it was not addressed. I was curious about the contours on barrels that are CHF. I have read that the rifling comes from hammering the barrel on a mandrel, but what about the profile? Are the profiles ground down and turned on a lathe, or are they formed during the hammering process along with the rifling? I ask because I would like a CHF barrel for my future Iron Ridge setup when they get the Armalite uppers ready.
