"Among those who praised Garland’s tenure Thursday was outgoing FBI Director Christopher Wray. “Your leadership and your values have never wavered,” Wray said, presenting Garland with the kind of Tommy gun once used by agents."

No indication if the gun came out of FBI inventory or is a replica. Any of the resident FBI agents here know (calling Mr Skunk!!!)? I am assuming it was a replica, I hope.

When Louie Freeh retired they cut up one of the FBI Thompsons and mounted it as a retirement gift.

It was a replica.

A couple months ago, I saw Garland get hammered-fist punched right in the mouth while he was trying to fire a real M1928.

When he squeezed the trigger, the bolt slammed home and stayed forward on a dead round (these are open-bolt SMG’s). The person helping hold the gun up for Garland reached up top, wrapped his thumb around the charging handle, and attempted to retract the bolt/extract the dead round. When he started to push the bolt rearward, his hand slipped and he hit Garland right in the mouth, knocking his glasses off and damn near knocking the old turd out.

It was the most fortunate accident I’ve ever witnessed.
