A local shop got a Christensen Arms MPP in 6.5 Creedmoor. It's a sweet little bolt action, and would be even sweeter with a supressor.

Has anyone shot a braced 6.5 with a 12.5 in barrel? Any ideas on velocities? I would like to have a smal lightweight hunting rifle but I'm not sure if it has enough energy with a 12.5 in barrel. Other choice would be a 16 in Q fix or Sig Cross.

Build something in a pork sword chassis would probably be the best option. Or a magnesium XLR with pistol brace. Cost wise probably the same and you'll have a better action and barrel for sure

Assume factory hornady 140gr. If you're at 2700 from a 24" id say 2600 at 20" (25fps per inch) and then maybe 2200-2300 from a 12.5" (50fps per inch below 20)

Might be a case where the 123 class is the better choice

tldr - Do NOT buy if you plan to SBR the Christensen MPP. Build custom with a Pork Sword, MDT LSS or HNT26 chassis.

If you plan to SBR the MPP, don't buy it. This post is going to sound like ungrateful complaining. I won mine when they did their giveaway for the reveal. Have yet to shoot it as I just got it yesterday. I planned to build a lightweight bolt SBR this winter, so what I am doing and have bought is not a big deal to me. I essentially got a free barreled action with a TT trigger.
The following may be irrelevant to you, and everybody else, but I'm going to type it anyways.

Now with that said, I HAD planned to SBR the MPP, so I had bought a Thordsen buffer tube adapter, a smoke composites buffer tube, and had a MFT BMS stock from an older project. This is where the issues start with making it an SBR. Pull the brace off, and you will see that there are only two slots in the rail for the brace that are not centered top to bottom. Which of course means there is not a slot dead center which is needed for the Thordsen adapter. So, I called Christensen, and inquired about an adapter, or if they had plans to make one. I was told I am NOT the first person to call about it. Yet they have NO plans to make one that will be streamlined with the MPP chassis. If you have a mill, and some aluminum square stock you can make the Thordsen fit and work. You need to make a new plate that interfaces with the 1913 rail that tightens against the chassis, and mill about 1/16" off the top and bottom of the adapter itself. I'm sure I could take the chassis and the adapter and tell a shop what I am looking to do then cerakote the part after the work is done. Would rather just sell the MPP chassis and include the adapter if the buyer wants it to do just that. Basically, the rear of the chassis was made ONLY for that one and only brace from SB. Nothing else will look, fit or work right. SBR never crossed anybodies mind at Christensen from what it sounded like on the phone.

Plan B, next phone call, MDT. I asked about the upcoming HNT26 and if the 12.5" bbl will work with a can. They couldn't guarantee it, and they did not have a measurement from the recoil lug interface to the end of the forend. In turn I was recommended the LSS. So now I have an MDT LSS with MDT skeleton carbine stock on the way.

So when I get my Form 1 filled out and approved in the next 30-45 days, the MPP chassis is going down the road. Thanks Christensen, I appreciate the barreled action, I hate the chassis. You just needed to design a simple adapter for a buffer tube.
If you are fine with the folding brace, and the uncomfortable cheek weld, then it's great. It's not my cup of tea though, I hate braces. It's why I have two other SBR's.
