The CCP is fighting a very effective cold war against us Americans and the rest of the free world- yet we still have supposed patriots in the gun community defending the purchase of gun related products from CCP/Chinese OEM optics and lights manufacturers like holosun, swampfox, olight, phenix, reportedly arken, and more... That's much worse than stuff just made in Chynuh.
Saving a few bucks essentially turns off the logic circuit with people like the above.

Everybody wants everybody else to buy American, but they shop at Walmart.
As a start I just want the shooting community to stop buying products of OEM Chinese companies like those I listed in my post above. That'd be a great start to preventing the CCP from stealing the gun optics markets. Just because the CCP has stolen the consumer electronics market doesn't mean we shouldn't stop them from stealing our gun optics industry.
That the CCP controls lots of industries is a reason to not buy CCP goods- it's not a justification to buy even more CCP products like some supposed patriots say.
...and buy Volvos, iphones/imacs/ipads, ring doorbells, Barbie dolls, Ray Bans, Radio Flyer...

One could argue gun stuff is the ONLY thing we should buy from them, if anything at all.
I blame Walmart and other greedy corporations as much as the consumer, maybe more, for China's rise. They've conditioned the American consumer to expect $20 sneakers, $100 TV's, $50 furniture, etc. All so the shareholders can get a few more bucks and the CEO can enjoy his $20 million a year salary.

Everything I've read of Japanese business models says they are as ruthless in the boardroom as they were on the battlefield. IMO their innovative skills are mostly geared towards improving whatever they think they can make money with. And they can improve the crap about of just about anything.
That's the issue. Their Navy was better. They had a modern carrier force 2 years ahead of ours (Until it sunk) 2 years in, they knew they were losing and kept fighting (to the death) Their troops were beyond fanatical. And while Hitler was personally directing his generals, theirs adapted to our island hopping strategy. Their goal was to bleed us until we couldn't take it any more, which is how you defeat the US.
Soldiers that fight to the death Trump a LOT of technology. They just didn't surrender. Ever. They targeted medics, they kamikaze ships, anything to drag things on. they even got civilians committing suicide on Saipan because of the fear of surrender to america.
They got 2 nukes and still a faction revolted to prevent surrender.

True, they were more fanatical, but as you said, they knew they couldnt win. Had we not gotten into the European theatre when we did, the Germans could have solidified Europe and bought thet ime to reduce all of Britan to rubble, while finishing the nukes and rockets. Then, they could have beaten us.
Sometimes there isn't a good alternative. Look at the cost of an American made dumbbell....prohibitively expensive.
However, much can be done to reduce the amount of Chinese goods purchased. Just bought a few flammable cabinets for work and made sure it was American made.
Also, American made sometimes isn't good quality.

But we beat the Germans, twice, because of our industrial might. Our greatest weapon, one we no longer have. Covid gave us a glimpse of what would happen in a war with China. I think in six-eight months the people in this country would be too busy fighting with each other to worry about them.

Japan used to build better cars , at present looks like the Japanese overslept the whole electric trend and will likely loose market share in near future.
Chicoms made more progress in building cars in past 3 years than rest of the world did in a decade, 2023 model Chines cars eat most Euro or US cars for breakfast . Even Tesla that had a considerable advantage over the competition is now in many ways inferior to Chinese BYD that was in 2020 a joke of a car manufacturer with maybe 200k total cars sold that year .
Chicoms currently also make most efficient diesel truck engines Weichai Power's WP13H went past 51% thermal efficiency which is about 10% more efficient than what is being sold by US and Euro manufacturers.
Chinese are going to eat our breakfast in no time, expect tariffs on all chinese cars soon as otherwise many domestic manufacturers both in Europe and US are facing wipeout .
