Hey guys,
newer LR shooter here picking up my first custom rifle tomorrow to start getting into prs and want to get proper cleaning supplies I've always just used bore snakes in the past.
I ordered a Dewey cleaning rod and a possum hollow bore guide.
my question is what attachments do I need for the cleaning rod? I think there called jags right?
and which solvents would you recommend.
thanks
btw sorry if this is in the wrong section

In my (generally not so humble) opinion...don't clean it. I maybe lightly clean just the carbon out like twice in a barrels life. I keep the action/lugs cleaned and greased often, but pretty much the only thing to ever go through the bore is bullets. When I do carbon clean I just wrap a nylon brush with a patch and use some ATF or fuel injector cleaner to push out excess carbon build up.
