Does anyone on here shoot service rifle matches? I've been kicking around the idea of building one on a budget just to see how I like it. Would love to see some of your setups.

I wanna keep it around at most the cost of a white oak or compass lake upper for the entire rifle if possible
I was going to say Rock River also. Get a National Match A2 or A4. The NMA2 is about $1375 the NMA4 $1450. The only thing I don't like about the A4 is the front sight. .7 MOA out of the box with Black Hills Match.
I have one complete RRA, on upper on a lower I built with their lower kit, and one rifle I built from new parts using their lower kit, but stock kit and free float hand guard.
BTW, if you buy the free float tube kit for new build you will need a sling swivel. They assume you have one already when you buy the upgrade.

Is 20in barrels still the go to length these days and can the barrels be fluted or do the have to be non fluted I looked through the rules and couldn't find anything about that
Uppers can be A2 or M4, but most people go for 20". I assume you can flute it if you want since I believe there is no rule against it.
You can shoot 20 or 18 inch barrels. From the gas block forward it has to be .750 or less in diameter. The bird cage flash hider is not considered a brake.

There are a couple guys on this site selling uppers. Also rock river at Camp Perry is blowing out Service rifles and uppers for cheap
