Cold bore tips?

Yup make sure your barrel is fouled and then dry fire some before taking the shot. Gets the body ready to take the shot.

Download the podbean app and find the everyday sniper channel (it's Frank's channel, the HMFIC of this forum) Listen to the first episode and then search through all the other ones. There is a really good one about cold bore, the title is cold bore something. That will answer all of your questions.

Edit to add, it's free, witch is unbelievable to me because that information is amazing

This one?

I'll give it a listen on my computer, not a fan of installing software when I can avoid it.

I have also been going through Jacob of rifles only videos on Vemo

Yeah I think that's the one. Don't worry about installing this stuff on your phone, I use to be just like you and I'm slowly accepting this stuff. It's very convenient to just pop in your headphones and listen while working instead of just sitting and watching a video

On the dry fire rounds for 22 idk about rifle guys but most pistol shooters use drywall anchors for snap caps for 22

More dry fire in between shooting outings. If the roadmap to solid fundamentals is engrained to where you can't do it wrong then you'll execute that way almost always regardless of whether it's the start of a range day or the end. With that said it requires a ton of repetitions to get there. Subconscious competence. That's the true cure for "cold bore" because a fouled barrel shoots in the same spot as it did last outing. The only thing "cold" is the shooter.

As said 1000’s of times before ...

shooting is a sport/perishable skill

constant reps and practice is the only way

athletes warm up for hours before the game starts; and they practice everyday.

On the cold shooter note, I have dry fire rounds for my all my center fires, however with me shooting my 22 more, what’s the top choice for a dry fire round for 22lr?

When we said dry fire before the cold bore shot we meant right before. Like 4 or 5 times and then take the shot.

Dry fire at home is good practice also. For the .22 just pick up some standard snap caps or even use a fired .22 case can work. Some rifles like the Vudoo don’t need to have anything and can be used like a centerfire.

I’ll just use a spent case

It’s in a Sako P94S so I’m not sure if it’s dry fire friendly, rather not risk it.
