Hunting & Fishing Colorada hunting unit 85 and 501 elk self guided help

I am looking to do a self-hunt in Colorado. Any help on these units would greatly be appreciated.

ditto for my first elk hunt, first rifle in nw colo, 20, 21, 30, 31, 32. not too proud to beg! but i am planning on getting there 5-7 days before season starts on oct 13 to do some in-person scouting.
