Alright, I am a bolt guy coming into the AR platform. I picked up a colt 24'' hbar and am wanting to install a badger ordnance stabilizer hand guard. I found videos on how to install a free float, but now how to remove one?

I also have most of the tools required... My only question is where can I see a video or tutorial on how to remove the stock free float and should I change the gas block to a low pro like the vltor?

Thanks... Excuse my inexperience

Brownells has a nice video section on their site.

I think on those you may need a strap wrench.

You need an action block.

To install the badger, it may take a few tries to get it clocked right with the required torque on the guard nut. You can use a large adjustable wrench with some leather padding to tighten it.

I like the micro blocks and they are pretty cheap.

BTW, accuracy is very dependant on making sure the gas tube fits freely through the handguard and upper. Almost like a free float.
