I have a colt cm762 that I picked up for a great deal several months ago. I would like to pick up some spare parts for it before things get too crazy with the election next year, but I keep getting conflicting info.

Does anyone know for sure if the colt 901 bcg will work with the cm762 or not? I have read some saying it does, which makes sense because it should be the same thing internally, but I have emailed one site carrying a 901 bcg and they said it does not. I emailed another site, brownells, and they basically said they weren't sure.

My last stop will be calling colt since they don't seem to have a public email address for these questions, but I have heard that is will take hours and can be a nightmare. Anyone know for sure one way or the other?

For those not familiar, the colt 762 has had a few different versions of what is a 308 semi auto that can accept a 556 upper with the adapter. The 901 was the version that preceded the cm 762, or at least I think it was.

They should be the same. It’s the same rifle with the exception being that the 901 is monolithic, ish... Order a bcg for a 901 and compare. If it isn’t the same, send it back. The lack of available replacement bcg’s and barrels is the reason I don’t have one of these rifles.

Thanks for the responses. I tried calling colt and reached a phone tree for a few mins only to discover that everyone was out for lunch and they would not accept any messages. I will try again later today.

I agree in theory that it should be the same bolt, but colt does strange stuff sometimes! It doesn't help that none of the sites carrying colt parts seem to know for sure either.

I had to wait about ten mins on hold, but colt customer service confirmed the only differences between the 901 and cm762 are the monolith rail vs removable mlok rail. So the 901 bolt will work with the cm762. If anyone needs one armsunlimited has them in stock.

Thanks for the help!
