Colt Officers Model Target 22LR 1949 manufacture

Inherited this a while back. Used and worn but super cool and accurate.

I’ll pass it down to my adult son pretty soon, I suspect.

I think your dating is off, as those type sights ( windage rear elevation front) were definitely pre WWII

Officers model target was an older model, the officers model match came out later.
my references indicate production from 1908-1940

It’s an officers model target

I can’t find any reference to this model revolver earlier than 1949

Appreciate any help in dating this.

Type into google colt serial number look up. Will lead you to colts site. Type in serial number and will usually have a few Models that share that number

Did that. None of them come up officers model target.
