Hi,

A stock Remington 700 with a target barrel and an average length suppressor gives a combined barrel length in the range of about 32 to 36 inches.

What's the longest rig you've used that handled OK? What do you consider an optimal combined length?

Thanks,

Mike

Define "handled OK." I've swung suppressed rifles with 26" barrels. They aren't ideal for humping through the woods all day, but they swing OK on a bipod if you're shooting mostly prone or from a bench.

depends on how long the suppressor is, how far over the barrel it mounts, and whether you've paid a tax stamp (if necessary) for the short barrel.
