Hello all, I’m reaching out for some night vision advice. I’m looking at purchasing my first set of dual tubes. I am primarily looking at two housings. Low Light innovations MH-1 and the Manticore-R UANVB- FCR. As the cost is substantial for either of these units built out. I was hoping that someone on here potentially had hands on experience with both or either one of these units and what your thoughts are on them? I’m really wondering what your thoughts are on the housings as tube specs vary based on what you pick or spec. I’m open to other options if someone has another housing that they like.
I am wanting a housing that is metal and not a polymer type and I do want a unit with manual gain and option for external battery pack.

I’m just trying to make sure I do my research as either are very expensive. Thanks all and I appreciate any input!

I dove head first into the night vision scene back when your choices were RNVG for rock solid reliability or dtnvg for articulation. Boy is it wild to see all the choices the NV consumer has now.

On the OPs question, I've handles both and the machining and quality of both are quite good.

It's really more of an astetics question, pick the one the more appeals to you. Both units have no question warranties from the manufacturer and have similar functions.

There's really not much to add here other than this:

Do you prefer a rotating knob for gain control or a push button?

Do you care about future modularity? If so, the MH1 is going to be what you want to go with. I've got a set of L3 unfilmed tubes waiting to go into an MH1 housing once they announce their panning adapter that is a collaboration with Noisefighters.
