Compensator or muzzle break reviews / suggestions.

Just got my new stock for my savage 308. So its time to complete the gun for now.

The gun has a threaded barrel so I wanna put something on it and not a supressor.

So looking at either a compensator or muzzle break.

I know neither of these are quiet but any of em that are more silent than other's would be appreciated.

So with these facts can yall give me some suggestions on what y'all use?

JP all the way, Recoil Eliminator I love mine!!!!! It works so well, I could just shoot all day long and never stop. I can shoot easy 500 rounds of ammo!!!!!!!!!!

My vote goes to the Badger fte, but it does require extra machining. So if your looking for something that needs little work I would go with JP enterprises bennie cooley tactical muzzle brake.

Pm rws and have him make you one of his brakes. He makes it to your barrel spec and barrel thread and for only $45. The three port system works really well.

I have done many reviews on Brakes, and own a JP Cooley, RE, Vais, FTE, R&D, but I think Precision Armament M41 severe duty reduces recoil more than anything. Just be sure to shoot on a mat, and don't shoot off the hood of your vehicle, unless you wanna dent in it. But you don't have to have it Smithed, even though Jon Beanland cut my Brake so it would be same dia. as my MTU brrl. Myself I love to watch the vapor trails through my scope, and spot hits as well. But I run a RE on a 18lb AR in .223, and Vais on my BR rigs. Don't have to have em, but in a 338... I'd prefer one.

-Badger micro fte work perfectly , small and efficient
-Badger Std fte work also perfectly but need gunsmith work. Concusion is also worse.
-Badger thruster also work great but also need gunsmith work.
Jp comp , one of the most efficient but uber concussion.

They work great in my opinion. Actually, a few of my teammates are using it as well. I don't think you'll be disappointed. I actually like the fact that it can be easily removed to clean the carbon build up over time.

Or screw on a suppressor. I wanted a removable brake that was somewhat sleek and I have always liked them. Thanks shotdown

I think everybody likes breaks but I'm talking about muzzle brakes lol. I was actually inquiring as to the effectiveness of the mrad specifically.

Have to give 3 thumbs up. Price 45.00 shipped. 3 large ports and fits my barrel perfectly. Just have to get it cerakoted now.

I've used a badger micro fte as well as the fte. Both were very effective at taming recoil, fte gives fairly significant concussion increase in my opinion. I also have a Piercision Muscle Brake (3-port) which I've found to be moderate increase in concussion with a significant increase in recoil reduction. My Colt Comp ar has a brake similar to the surefire and it's works very well, but it's also only a .223. The others are on 6.5cm, 338lm. Many great ones out there to choose from. Good luck with your decision.
