We use compensators* for our rimfire race guns, LRN ammo only. They get gunked up with lead pretty fast...500 rounds or so. Do centerfire have an issue with that, being jacketed? Not, like copper wash .22lr, but actual jacketed?

*for the excruciating recoil of a .22lr, no, really because people say it helps the shot timer hear the pew, which is debatable, since there was a competition last fall that I guy was running suppressors on both pistol and rifle, the shot timer had no problem scoring his pews.

Maybe they help the absolute highest level shooters, but we are just top 10 at most "local-ish" (within 3 hours each way) competitions with 30-40 shooters. We do shoot with / against some of the best though, which is nice.

On my suppressor I have noticed lead build up in the cliped area of the baffles and it is an absolute beast to get off with normal methods. Followed DeadAirs suggestion and toss the baffles (Stainless. Aluminum is a no no) in a rotary tumbler with a squirt of dawn and let it run over night. Next morning they are squeaky clean. No carbon, no lead.
