My question is how do I get involved in a local competition? I live in New England, CT to be specific, and have been interested in competing. I'm new to the precision rifle world, but have been in the tactical arena for many years.

Some initial concerns are...
What is a must have equipment list?
(I currently have a Remington 700 in 308 with a Vortex 6-24x50 in a Bell and Carlson Medalist stock and a Harris bipod.)
Should I consider a team match?

Any advice is welcomed...
Thanks.

I wanted to shoot long range and found my local Range opens the 1000yd to the public on the Team Practice days once a month. Once there, I met many friendly people in the Practical Precision club as well as Military Rifle and Palma. They are encouraging for new shooters to compete. The local matches are cheap and membership is on a daily basis for the match if you don't join the club or team. Caution: may be addictive.
