Hi everyone...I need some help with this SIMRAD cap I bought used off of the hide a few weeks ago.

Its a BO SIMRAD cap LINK HERE said to mount to 4 screw BO rings, which I am using.

The problem is that the cap, when installed, has a gap between the underside of the cap and the main tube of the scope. When I compare it to the original cap on the front ring, the demensions are obviosly different, but the cap is the correct 30mm demesion I need....?
ALSO, the seller said that the orgiginal 4 screw cap should be placed on the rear underside of the SIMRAD cap and screwed on...there is a huge gap which would not permit that when i set the 2 rings up on my scope....

Is this a common problem with the SIMRAD cap, and I'm doing something wrong here?

Let me know if pics are needed here....

Re: Complications with my SIMRAD cap?

You have a 30mm or 1" scope tube. If it is a 1" tube there is a spacer that goes in the ring to take up the gap you are talking about. Pictures always hep, just post them by default

Re: Complications with my SIMRAD cap?

How do I look at these rings and make 100% sure they are Badger rings?

There is a 4 digit serial # on one side of each lower ring.

Re: Complications with my SIMRAD cap?

I may be wrong and I'm not bashing the seller but that damn sure does not look like any BO ring cap. The cap currently on the BO site has a notch on it. All of the ones seen look like this picture of a BO cap mounted. Notice the screw holes, tue USMC BO front ring has 3 holes per side

Re: Complications with my SIMRAD cap?

Take a look at the Simrad page showing the variety of caps.

Simrad Caps

From the looks of it, your's seems similar to the B-621 for the post 2000 Leupold MkIV rings. Notice the comment about 'center cut' as this refers to the exact issue you're having with your cap, in that the lower ring walls must be sit lower on the centerline.

The 'high cut' as shown on the B-620 and B-622 caps have the slot cut out which allows them to work with the lower rings which sit above the centerline such as your existing Badger rings.
