Controversal: Dart or Tranquilizer Rifle

Surely a topic less spoken about. There are a few videos on Youtube, but not many. And little information in them about an actual rifle capable to shoot tranquilizer ammunition.

What rifles are typically used for this job? Can there rifles with a range up to 300m?

I have seen both working with air-pressure and an actual bolt-action rifle shooting a cartridge with a sort of injection needle on it, like you've seen doctors use.

Any ideas?

Hypodermic dart's are only accurate for a short distance.
300m !
Like Flu Flu arrows, darts lose velocity really fast.
On my friends deer farm we dart deer occasionally and get as close as we can, which is usually around 10-15 feet.
He has a really old converted .22 lr bolt action dart rifle.
It uses .22 blanks and has a three position dial to regulate the velocity.
