A couple days ago my buddy Matt and I hit the prairie to try our luck bringing home a couple goats. We both had archery and gun tags so we were happy to mix it up a little bit. For me, I was set on sticking one with my bow, we ended up finding a group of goats with a good buck just after sun up and I'm off and trailing them with my bow. After about a mile of being on the move they finally settle down and start to feed. I close the distance to about 150 yards and go in to stealth mode. There are about 8 animals in the herd and I've got to be super careful not to let one eyeball catch movement or they're off. Luckily for me the does get out in front of the buck about 40 yds and feed out of sight, so now it's just me and the buck and I'm at 100 yds. I make my move and start to belly crawl until I get to about 60 yds and he beds down! The grass out here is so dry that I've got to pick and choose my hand and knee placement as to not alert him to my presence. I get to 40 yards and decide this is my spot, slowly get to my knees and the wait is on. After about 15 minutes the local rancher comes driving along on his atv about a half mile to the south, the buck hears it, starts to stand to get a better look and I come to full draw. The buck looks in my direction and the arrow is on its way, I hit him right in the pump station and the rage ate him up, made it about 100 yds blood spraying the whole way. I'm pretty proud of him as he's my firt antelope with a bow. For anybody who ever has the opportunity to spot and stalk antelope, take advantage of it because its a fricken BLAST! Here he is.

After getting my goat cleaned up we set out to get one for Matt. We've been ringing our 12" steel plate out to 800 yards pretty consistantly lately so we decided to try and get a 600-700 yd kill on video. We worked one buck for about an hour at 650-725 yds but we just couldn't get him to stand still long enough in one spot for a good shot. When that goat got away we ran into this one, and while it wasn't as long a shot as we had originally hoped, it was a pretty decent poke. Here's the vid.
