Can't get the link to work so I'll just take a wild stab at it. It would be crazy for the human animal to take a jump like that because we have the ability to reason that such a jump would not end well for us. A deer on the other hand, or any other animal, does not possess that ability to reason.

The buck was crossing the road at the bottom of the ramp and got spooked by the local ladies car approaching, so the buck decided to run up the overhead and then veered to jump the rail not realizing that at that time he was 20+ feet up and landed on the lanes below.
Two very nice local bucks were killed this year, tends to get the locals in town all upset they in time claim these as their pets or something of the sort.

In Wisconsin are you allowed to keep a roadkill if you find it? Down here you get arrested just for looking at roadkill.

his lady friend ran off on him with a more "well-endowed" buck and just couldn't take the heartache.
