I'm thinking of buying a green mountain barrel. Do you guys like this company?

Maybe one of these barrels would work?

From what I read they are air gauged.

I read that the cricket barrels aren't always straight and I bought this rifle for my little girl who's turning 4 very soon. She's going to sit on my lap and shoot. Anyways I'd like to shop around and look for a good barrel replacement. I know enough about lathes to know you can make anything work but I don't know how the barrel on a cricket is attached. If they are just a press fit then it would be so simple for me to just get a barrel chambered as I own a 20 ton press.

Please help if you can and thank you so much

Have you shot it yet?

words of wisdom that stand the test of time do so for a reason. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." or mess it up. I think you are looking in the wrong direction to place blame on that little fella's mangled thumb. heard what from where? I can tell you first hand from touring the plant and shooting one myself, there ain't nothing wrong w/ the rifle. and if there is, contact Crickett, they are super-stand up folks and will make it right. They've been doing this for a good while and know what they are doing. One of the top machinists in the tri-state area runs the floor and I can't say enough good about the owner and what kind of operation he runs. If you want Bill's email, PM me.

Re: Have you shot it yet?

Maybe I missed it in the original post but...it doesn't sound like he is seeking a barrel swap for safety reasons, at least I didn't get that out of his post. This forum is jam packed with guys who like to upgrade/personalized/modify their firearms to suit their own style and needs. Sounds like the op is just seeking a barrel for grins. I like the heavy barreled crickett that sold here not too long ago and would love to see more of them.

Re: Have you shot it yet?

Hey LWilliams keep following me around in my threads and see where it gets you. I have no agenda what so ever. I only said what I said about the other topic because of what I was told. I asked for ref's and got them. I then spoke out about what I heard. End of story. I don't even know Chad. All I know is several people told me some pretty sickening story's about there rifles.

=========

I actually just wanted a much heavier barrel for the rifle. I've been reading that the cricket barrels aren't that straight so if I could get a match .22 barrel that would be awesome.

Re: Cricket rifle Barrel upgrade help

Let me get this straight. Now you are threatening someone on here for keeping an eye on you? What will you do? Run tell a mod?
With your current spate of posts, and the fact that you have not filled out your profile, more than a few people have decided to watch you.
So you admit to openly running down a man and his business, that you have never had any dealings with personally. I got news for you you are on several shit lists right now.....including the mods. "I'll be watching you."

Re: Cricket rifle Barrel upgrade help

So you want a heavier barrel on a rifle you bought for your 4 year old daughter to learn to shoot w/? Are you gonna start her on a weight lifting program first?? and you actually HAVE a Crickett in your hands to look at but have no idea how it's assembled? I call BS. If you want a heavy barrel for a Crickett, BUY A HEAVY BARREL CRICKETT. Otherwise buy a 10/22 and quit trash talking a tried and true design/product & business.

Just answering jetcycles post and questions. This is an open forum I thought, or are you going to ask that this one be locked also. Fill out your profile and quit being so sketchy and people might take you a little more serious.

Re: Cricket rifle Barrel upgrade help

I have a Cricket for my grandaughter for 3 years, and have no issues with it at all. Very accurate rifle also. First thing I did was remove the lock set up. Once you press lock in it is locked, and if you did not carry key, you are done shooting.
