Someone tell me how this is possible please. Shooting an M14 with LRB M25 receiver, USO 1.5-6, 18.5" Criterion medium weight barrel and fiberglass stock similar in weight and construction to Mcmillan M3A. 1 week ago gun was zeroed at 300 yards off bipod and shooting prone. Shot tonight at the same distance and POI was 27" low!! Dialed up on the elevation and shot some 3-4" 3 shot groups. Then proceeded to shoot a 94 out of a possible 100 on a standard 300 yard target in low light. The only difference between the 2 days is that I did clean the gun before shooting tonight and the there was considerable more mirage last time out. The rifle is not bedded yet, I'm on the list for a Ted Brown bedding job but the barreled action is a tight fit in that stock and has to be a better fit then the standard GI plastic stock. If it shoots decent groups, why such a drastic change in POI from one session to another?

Re: Cry for help

Checked the mount, rings and caps, all tight. If something was loose POI should change consistently, not just from one session to the next. Just doesn't make sense, unless the way it sits in that stock has something to do with it.

Re: Cry for help

Temperature change was about 15 degrees, so not nearly enough to effect it that much at 300, Gas cylinder plug was not loose, don't have any kids to mess with the turrets and I did the box test, it checked out. I'm at a loss, probably shoot again tomorrow or Wed.
