About a year back at the power plant I worked at, we had issues out in the switch yard. That's a big problem really, 345kv and all of the different transformers out there are a LOT happier when it has a flow path.

So, they called the switch yard maint. crew to check things out as nothing seemed normal.

They discovered that we HAD in fact been infiltrated by a highly trained and dedicated team of sabotouers.

Raccoons. Plural.

Apparently their planned route took them into the concrete cable tunnels just below the gravel. They made it probably 80 yrds before one of them decided to take a bite out of the large black things they were crawling over. And after that another one decided to crawl over his crispy buddy to charlie mike.

Alas, he too gave into temptation and took a bite also.

They must've decided to egress to the rally point because we never had anymore issues like that again.

caused a lot of switching work for us to redirect electrons for the crew to inspect and fix the chewed cables..

Sort of like the new cars where they went with a soy based plastic Wire insulation and the rodents are getting in the cars and eating the wiring completely to pieces. Utterly totals the cars.
