I've been looking all over the internet for a bullet trap, but found nothing like what I want. Most are either cheap mild steel for pellet guns, or commercial grade traps in the thousands of dollars. Then it occurred to me that their might be someone here that could help. Is there anyone here on the Hide that works with AR500 steel and has welding/fabrication skills? I have no welding skills or equipment, so figured I'd pay someone to do the job.
The trap would be used mostly for .22LR, with the occasional 9mm or 45 acp. I was thinking 1/4" AR500 steel would be sufficient as I would not be shooting closer than 25 yards. I would like an 18"-24" square opening at the front of the trap (depending on cost). Here's a few pics I found on the web of what I had in mind. If anyone does this kind of work or knows of a shop, let me know.
