Custom Savage and Mossberg Plinker

Figured I'd make a little build thread for the 2 bolt guns I currently have. Bought the .308 Savage action last year and finally finished up the final touches a few months ago. I bought the .223 Mossberg for a cheaper plinker but shoots nicer than expected (always a good thing).

Savage 10 short action with accutrigger
24" 1:10 twist heavy barrel
Millett LRS 6-25x56 illuminated scope
Choate Tactical stock
Harris 9-13 pivoting bipod

Mossberg MVP Varmint
Millett Varmint 4-16x56 scope
Blackhawk 9-13 pivoting bipod
Texture black painted stock

Went to the range today to shoot past 200 for the first time. Rained the whole time so I just did steel silhouettes out to 600.

Nice setups! Mossberg seems like some interesting stuff with their predator models they have out now too.

Yikes, Millett.... I would advise an upgrade as soon as possible. I had an LRS that lasted all of 52 rounds when I first got into LR shooting.

For the money you can't beat em. Sorry you had trouble with yours, hope you were able to take advantage of their warranty.

Yes sir, I was! However I never even took it out of the box it came in (shipping). I slapped a new label on it and sold it right away and went with some quality glass.
I think there are better options out there but if you like it, its returns to zero consistently, and tracks as it's supposed to then by all means enjoy it and the rifle!
