Posted this on Rimfirecentral so i'll copy it here also if someone need some info or pics of bedding job (yes another one
)but when i was deciding to bed my rifle i had little pics available and every little bit helps...
I've allready posted about my problems with Varmint and that i've decided to bed it. So here is the report:
Used Loctite Hysol 3471, and aluminum pillar for action screw. I've followed some allready posted instructions regarding 452 bedding. I also decided to allow putty to flow in front of the barrel to support it (halfway between action and barrel lug) but only bottom not sides of the barrel.
Everything went smoothly only gripe i have is with playdoh since its too soft and luckly i stuffed paper into action otherwise i'd have a perfect example of glue-in job. I also had to sand (used dremel) back side of the pillar (where sear goes) to allow for sear movement. I also had some nice catch the ..... sear ball game so if anyone has good advice how to reassemble sear to action easily be sure to post it (had to look for the ball twice and it took almost half an hour to get it in).
As for result i'm pretty happy, barrel and action are nicely seated with no movement even without screwing it in. I will have to wait a bit to check how it shoots...
Here are some pics:
Holes drilled (also added clay on top of the paper to avoid loctite spill):
Pillar:
Pop.out not glued in
Sanded and fitted:
Rest of them:
