Suppose you're shooting in matches that require using two 10-round magazines in a stage. Is there some modification to the magazine well, trigger guard, etc. that will make this change easier/faster? Or is there some technique that people use to facillitate the insertion of the second mag? I'm thinking that some sort of flanged bottom to the magazine well would work well, but I don't see anything like this available. And I'm feeling pretty clumsy as I try to get that second magazine inserted and seated under time pressure.

Any thoughts or experience on this?

What stock or chassis are you using? MDT makes an extended rear mag spacer and release, this helps out tremendously. Some filing or building up using these components and you should have what you are wanting

Currently I'm using the original Evolution that came with it. I also have a Boyd's Pro Varmint, but can't seem to get comfortable with that. I have an extended mag release on it. The problem isn't in getting the empty mag out. It's in quickly, and simply by feel, getting the new one in. It's a real narrow opening -- not like the wide ones for larger cartridges or ones for double-stacked pistol mags. So it pretty much requires perfect alignment without seeing it. Something like a chamfered bottom to the mag well would help a lot.

MDT ACC for CZ 457 has a funnel like mag well that let's you insert mags quicker.

Is more the floorplate that needs a bevel/funnel added for a regular stock.

Their price is stupid but it has a funnel if you pause the video when he shows it with the mag out.

Yeah. And I could do that myself.

Well, I guess I see it has sort of a funnel-ish bottom. :) But overall, that product appears to be a solution looking for a problem. Part of the marketing pitch seems to be the strong hint that it will address the same issues that pillar bedding would. However, it's very stylish, to be sure.

I'm now thinking that I can probably craft something out of aluminum and attach it to the original "bottom metal" myself. I'm also thinking that there's a plastic bin in my barn that might have the necessary chunk of aluminum in it (off an old motorcycle). Hope springs eternal. 😂 But this discussion has been very useful.
