I currently have a Savage FV-SR in a Boyd Tacticool stock, but am thinking of upgrading to a CZ 455 Varmint Precision Trainer with the Manners T4 stock.

(yes, I know I can get a Manners T4 for the Savage)

The only concern I have is having a threaded barrel for my rimfire can. CZ's webstore seems to be down, but do they offer a threaded varmint contour barrel (16-20") or would a guy need to 1. have the factory barrel threaded by a smith or 2. get something like a Lilja?

Thanks...

Lilja doesn't thread their barrels. Best option is to get a smith to thread the factory barrel IMO. Especially if you've got a SWR/Silencerco can since they take the shorter rimfire threads.

^^^ +1!

I have shot both of the rifles mentioned here, and while the Savage was very accurate out of the box for the price; however, I have the CZ and have not looked back! I cut the factory barrel to 16.5" and threaded it! I'll post pics here when it is ALL done, finishing up the Cerakote at the moment! But it is very accurate for a factory barrel!

Yep, there are factory CZ threaded barrels. The earliest threaded imports were a metric thread, but the last several models have been threaded 1/2x28.

the varmint contour barrel that CZ USA sells is not threaded. the regular American contour barrel can be had threaded. i ordered a varmint contour barrel from CZ, had it cut down 1.5", threaded and crowned.
