CZ 455 trainer

Get one with a heavy barrel, shoot it.

Seriously, if you’re going to replace the stock, the the cheapest one they have with a heavy barrel. Get a simple SWFA 10x42mm optic or better for an optic and go have fun. Good shooting rifles.

When I bought my CZ455 varmint (same rifle, walnut stock), I was disappointed at first. Accuracy was not what I expected. I read about not giving up on the barrel until it had around 800-1000rds through it. Spent a couple weekend pumping ammo through it and it improved around the 800 round mark. Changed a trigger spring, played with the action screw torque and I'm extremely pleased. They do shoot very well. The trainer is a nice set-up.

For your 'daughter', sure. ;)

I did exactly as PB did, right down to the scope. The only thing I did was add a Yo Dave Trigger, then a Timney.

The only reason to go with a donor rifle and a new stock would be if the standard stock is too long for her arms. Getting the fit as right as you can to get good fundamentals and get her comfortable shooting.

Something like this:

I'm not totally versed on the 455 models and Bud's inventory system.

Then get a stock that has the ability to fit well.

If you don't need the stock adjustment, the VPT is a great value. Tweaking the trigger gets it to that last degree.

Haha actually we bought her a Crickett precision rifle for Christmas and I think it would be fun to shoot 22s together rather than me shoot a centerfire at 50 yds. I haven’t shot a 22lr in roughly 10 years until we sighted hers in, kinda surprised me how much I enjoyed it.

That is a good price for what is essentially a CZ455 Varmint with a manners stock . You are essentially getting the manners for a $350 upgrade (cheapest manners I know of). Only bolt action rimfire I'd wait for right now in that price range is the upcoming Tikka Tx1 that hasnt been released yet.

I have the CZ455 varmint. I was lucky I got a "good one". I have heard of some that don't shoot well. I can easily hold a 0.5" 5 round group at 50 yards. That is more than good enough for my needs right now. I ended up going with boyds stock with a cheek riser. Love it...but I estimate I'm in the gun for about the same you are looking at. So, in retrospect, I probably would have done well buying the one with the Manners...

Depending on how risk averse you are, I think the Tikka T1x will likely have better probability of being a good shooter out of the box and better fit/finish. Slip it into a KRG chassis that is very adjustable (for about the same price of the setup you are looking at) and you will have an amazing rifle. Of course, this is coming from someone who has the CZ and wants the Tikka too.
