CZ 455 varmint .22mag

Assuming we're discussing swapping barrels on the 455, then yes.
I received a CZ 455 Varmint 22wmr early this year.
After a month of testing and tweaking the rifle, was able to get it to shoot moa.
The CZ webstore finally offered the 22lr and 17 hmr barrels, and I ordered 1 of each.
The 22lr barrel took a while to finally settle down. Took almost 2 bricks of ammo
before it stopped throwing fliers. It now too, is an moa barrel. The 17 hmr didn't
produce anything less than nickle sized groups at 50 yards. Good thing Lilja
offers match grade barrels that drop right in. Had a bull barrel match grade 17 hmr delivered.
No problem producing sub-moa at 50 yards, at 100 yards quarter sized groups
under normal conditions off bipod and bag.

CZ 455 BARREL SET, CAL. .22 LR VARMINT

You will need to order the 22lr spacer and pin.

Yes you can, a 455 receiver will accept 22LR, 22WMR or 17HMR and I believe 17 HM2. You do need a separate magazine for the 22WMR that also takes 17 HMR. You can buy combo packages that come with more than one barrel. The varmints are a hoot, they feel like full size rifles, not a rim fire - due to their weight and balance. Sometimes you get lucky and get some very attractive wood in the stocks as well. Can't say enough good things about the CZ 455.

I just bought a Varmint Single Set Trigger with fluted barrel in 22LR that I'm adding a Lilja barrel and changing to a Boyd's Tacticool stock (I shoot left handed so the thumb-hole stock wont work for me) with a Sightron 36x scope - cant wait to see what this will do. Already have a 17hmr that my son rarely lets me shoot (even though it's my gun) :)

It's all a matter of opinion, but most that have shot or own both say they are both equally capable. Most folks will also say that the CZ feels more like a full size rifle and that the fit an finish is better.

455/512 MAGAZINE HOUSING INSERT

455/512 MAG HOUSING INSERT PIN

what ammo on the 22mag did you try. fell into one with manners stock awhile back, but 22mag ammo has dryed up around these parts

I keep a variety of 22wmr in my stash for hunting and testing.
CCI, Fiocchi, Winchester and Hornady in jacketed, hollowpoints and ballistic tips.
The 40 gr hollowpoints were least accurate, then the solid jacketed.
The most accurate were the CCI and Hornady 30 gr ballistic tips.
Still can find a few bricks if you make the effort on line.
My cost has gone up about 5 to 8 cents a round since December,
but there a still a few bargains out there.

The CZ feels much more substantial than the Savage. IMHO the CZ feels "easier" to shoot more accurately.

cz 455 mag, savage mag

I have been looking at these rifles for a while. I have a savage MK2 .22lr, and an old Marlin .22mag. My question is can you swap barrels on these from .22lr to .22mag?

went to range yesterday, shot both cz 455 mag, savage mag out to 100 yrd
( someone on the 200 yrd line)
same scope an as much different ammo i could find(that was tuff)
anyway both shoot ok, but the cz put up the best 5 shot group, most of the time, fed premium was best, but sure it was all up to lot# will shoot some more friday.2 diferent shooters same results. also like the manners stock better on the cz. cant seem to get away from the 22mag makes great fox gun. any way would like to hear from hiders that have installed a 22mag lilja barrel, an what i can gain from changing to a lilja match mag barrel

Aside from the barrel and magazine swap, are there any other adaptors that you need to install when you change over from 17 HMR to 22LR? Thanks.

The switch from 17HMR to 22LR requires a magazine insert and retaining pin due to the shorter length of the 22LR magazine. Total cost of those parts is $7 - $8. Barrel swap can be accomplished in less than 10 minutes. I'd also recommend a torque screw driver so that you can properly torque the barrel retaining screws and the action screws.
